The plot is very detailed and full of all kinds of trouble for everyone-Cassie, Vince, Carlo, the cops. Then there is the whole mob thing! Vince hasn’t ever wanted to get into the ‘family business’ but he might not have a choice.
There is also a side plot with Vince’s brother, Bobby, that creates some drama as well. So, the story’s conflict is partially derived from the will she/won’t she get her memories back. Vince has had a thing for Cassie, and when he learns her memories are gone, he tries to convince his uncle she isn’t a threat. Vince is sent to ‘deal with the problem’ by his mob boss uncle. I have enjoyed Madsen’s romantic comedies in the past, and I love romantic suspense so I was excited about Taking Care of the Target!
